Get professional help, true depression can make you lacklustre and lose interests in basically all parts in life. Medicine can give you your energy back and once you’re back in it start building it down again, or a longer route is therapy but helps a lot of people as well.

Hey, motherfucker. I've been there. Still struggling at times. Still a smoker. Find help. Can't make it more simple. I have ignored and pushed on alone for three years before asking for help. And with that help I've gotten most of my life back on the rails. Sure I still feel like shit a lot of the time. But I have a better living eviroment. Can enjoy my time with friends and generally have less to worry about. So please. For yourself, find people who can help you get your life on track. Be it friends, family or a professional (psychiatrist) You can start working out or get a hobby to feel actually less depressed. But without a good base it's easy to slip back into that abyssal feeling inside.

Quit smoking weed i don't even remember when but some times ago now. The dreams came back quickly, around two weeks after i've quit i'd say. It was simply unbearable at the beginning because i started smoking weed real young and got used to it to fall asleep easier and to not have nightmares. Then you get used to it and it gets better after a while. The nightmares from PTSD are anxiety fuel but i guess they are necessary to let the brain let them out, and blocking them is not a good thing. Stay strong bro, you're on the right path and you're doing great!

get professional help. Weed can be a relief, but consuming on a regular base will most likely make your depression worse. Having some structure or routine is good, planing step by step is good, some hobby or sport is good.

Been there, bro. Weed can be fun but can also make adulting very overwhelming and depressing/anxiety. I smoked for like 10 years, last 3 I was already on 4Gr a day. Literally like smoking ciggis. There was a moment that through therapy for anxiety, I understood that was in permastoned phase (your brain is already wired as you were stoned all the time, even when you dont smoke) and disables you to do simple tasks, while at the same time increasing your limbic part, causing the anticipation anxiety and social anxiety. Often confused with aspergers, you can have a higher thought function, but disconnected from the exterior. It does get better. Took me 2-3 years to feel "normal" and around 5 to calm down my thoughts. They will be still there, but will not have that power over you, and you may even just ignore them for weeks.

Cut the shit - no weed. No booze. Eat regularly and have a regime. It won't heal you but it will keep you going.

I would suggest homeopathic anti-stress drugs. as they in no way get you addicted, and have only light influence, but the point is - while you will still be getting those bad ideas, bad dreams, any sort of terror - it will not feel "in the heart", as in literally and figuratively. The bad just ghosts though you, no longer bringing you stress, negative emotions or "stack up" to something bigger, and with time that should vanish or at least reduce in occurrence and effect on you. In my worse days i just use them as prescribed for only day or 2, and then like 1/3 of recommended norm for couple more days. For years now, my wishes to die and feeling like a nobody are more than just under control. Rather absent. Well, i still feel kinda useless sometimes, but not really in a negative way lol
